I personally find this article far too damning of Curtin's translations. I have read the whole of Henryk Sienkiewicz's The Trilogy as well as Knights of the Cross and think that he captures the essence of the novels and that his use of formal, sometimes archaic expressions is appropriate for the language of the time and helps to capture the correct historical atmosphere. True though they may be, opinions advanced in this article must be quoted or paraphrased from reliable publications stating those opinions. As it stands, many parts of this article have the unfortunate appearance of original research. Accordingly, I have put a template at the head of the article. Please cite sources for the generalizations about the quality of his translations, the comparison with a 2001 translation, etc., or replace them with properly sourced assessments.
